Vision
Experiencing a Solar Eclipse in the totality zone is an experience like no other. Add 5 days of all-night parties in a giant residence in Northern Spain, and all your Fusion dance friends from around the US and Europe, and it becomes once in a lifetime. The Venue is the beautiful Alberge Casa de Gandara, a rural manor mansion with 70 beds, 20 minutes from Santander, Spain, just west of Bilbao.
This Sunday through Thursday event will be a beautiful blend of our American and European fusion dance communities, truly unique. All culminating on Wednesday, just before sunset, with a full solar eclipse!
A camping spot is included with the event ticket. There are a limited number of beds which will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis for €75 total for the 5 nights of the event. Beds come with all bedding.

Registration and costs

- Cost: Full event ticket pricing is a sliding scale, starting at €250 euros and includes all workshops, parties, and on-site camping. Food tickets are €125 (€25/day) for three meals per day for 5 days. Sunday dinner through Thursday breakfast. Scholarship Tickets are available and limited and can be accessed through the online registration form.
- Low Income: €250 (limited number, will sell out)

Scholarship Tickets. €125 and up. limited number available. - Three meals a day will be provided for all registrants who purchase a food ticket during registration (€125). All meals will be gluten-free and have vegan options. During registration, you will be asked for additional food restrictions, and we will do our best to accommodate you. We suggest that the more food restrictions you have, the more "backup" personal food you bring.
- Scholarship tickets: Scholarship Tickets are available. Go through the normal online registration to fill out our scholarship application for tickets priced at €125 and up.
- You're on our Guest List: Upon registering, you will receive an email confirmation including all of your ticket purchases: Event Ticket, Food, Reserved Bed/Room, etc. We will have your name and all of your purchased tickets on our door guest list. Once your payment has been made, there is nothing else you need to do!
- Arrival and Out Times: Official arrival is at 3 pm (15h) on the 8th. Feel free to arrive anytime after 12 pm (12h) if you would like to help set up the venue with the organizing team. We ask that everyone not helping with cleaning is out by 2 pm (14h) on the 13th, as we must be finished cleaning the venue and out by 5 pm (17h).
Housing, Beds, Camping
- Camping is included with the event ticket. During online registration, you will have the option to purchase a bed in the venue. Beds will cost €75 for all 5 nights and you will be able to pick your bed and room upon arrival.
- There are 70 beds on site, in room combinations of 4, 6, 8, and 10 beds. The rooms are pictured on the venue's website here.
- If you would like to reserve a full room with a chosen group of friends, please reach out to Justin.
- We only have enough bed space for half of all attendees, and beds will be sold to those who purchase them first, so register ASAP.
- There is plenty of car camping space at no additional charge.

In The Know
- Venue Address: Albergue La Casa de Gandara: C. Callejuela, 3, 39627 Llanos, Cantabria, Spain
- Getting There: Rome2Rio has lots of options to and from the venue: Bus, Train, Flights. Flights to Santander airport are affordable from around Europe, as are those to Bilbao. We will be organizing car pickups and drop-offs in nearby Santander and Solares throughout the event when we get closer to the event.
- Health Policy: There are currently no COVID or other health-related requirements.
- Phone/Wifi Service: TBA
- Amenities: The main venue has a communal kitchen and showers for anyone to use throughout the event, whether you are eating provided meals or not.
- Dance Surfaces: We will be on stone tile floors and hardwood floors. Bring dance shoes to fit all the bills!
- Carpooling: We will have a carpooling sign-up when we get closer to the event.
- What Else To Pack: Camping stuff if you're camping on site. Clothes for hot days and cool nights. Snacks, drinks, substances you may want or need.
- Announcements: Important event announcements will be made each day before the first class at the main venue (11 am), as well as during dinner (7:30 pm). If you are not present during announcements, we will post all pertinent information in a post on the event WhatsApp thread. Stay plugged in, and you will not miss the magic.
- Refund Policy: Refunds will be available for a €50 administrative fee up until Thursday, one week before the event. Tickets can be transferred to a different name at no cost. To transfer a ticket, you only need to arrive at on-site registration with an email sent from the original ticket buyer stating that their ticket has been transferred to the new name.
Community Guideline
Recess Unbound events are by design, aspirational and challenging. We have a high expectation for everyone to be responsible for themselves and the people they care about in the space. If you need support, turn to your friends and the people around you. The event will have a loose structure to help you access support networks and resources. If you think you might have higher needs at this event, we suggest you find an event buddy or anchor person to attend and provide physical, social, and emotional support during the event. We encourage you to choose an anchor person for yourselves in every community space – it’s always a good idea! Every event will have an accessibility statement on the website description that will detail the physical limitations of the space. If you have specific questions, reach out to Justin Riley. We acknowledge that our events are not accessible to all bodies and abilities.
Accessibility Statement
This event has a medium to low requirement for self-responsibility, self-care, and physical ability. If you are camping, basic familiarity with camping skills is necessary, such as setting up and striking your personal tent. This event requires the ability to say "yes" to the unexpected. As well as the ability to take self-responsibility for one's being and actions.
